“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

July 4th is the day our nation, The United States of America, celebrates its 244th Birthday! All these years we have been One Nation Under God! With privileges and freedoms no other country has experienced.

However, today, we are a country that is saddened with disunity, fear, confusion and many feel without hope.

May this message bring you HOPE today! May you see your worth through words and feel in your heart a message of encouragement, boldness and care! You are remembered during these uncertain days.

You are more than a name on a list. I am writing to you, a woman with a heart, with a soul and with a body of emotions.

How are you dealing with today’s events?
What are you experiencing?
Why are you reacting the way you are?
Where have you experienced these feelings/emotions before?
When have you conquered such feelings/emotions in your past?

We each must answer the above questions for ourselves. We have each walked our own journey. Some have felt love and trust as a regular emotion. Some have experienced a full plate of food and a warm bed nightly. Others have struggled with love and trust for a lifetime. Some have wondered where their next plate of food will come from and if they will have a blanket to lay on, let alone a warm bed to sleep on.

Life’s journey is individual and at the same time community. Life has a way of being alone, yet within a group. Life is full of ups and downs with no regard for our family’s income, education or career. No matter the color of our skin, our sex or our nationality, we all desire to be loved, cared for and to pay our bills.

In our nation today, we know the above is being challenged by many. We know the hopes and dreams of many are being stripped away. We watch. We wonder. We want to help, but we are just one person in the sea of many. What can we do?

God’s Word tells us first, to “humble ourselves”. Admit we are arrogant, selfish and disobedient to His Word.

Once we have admitted the truth of our individual lives, we are commanded to turn to Him through prayer, seeking His face and turning from our wicked ways. We need to truly pray, talk, ask, cry out to God, seeking his Face, asking Him to show us His face, His way, His desire for our land.

What do you do when you lose something? You spend all day and night looking for it. We, as individuals, as a community, and as a nation, have lost God. God is still on HIS Throne, just like the item we have lost is still near us. We need to take time – quarantine in your home, seek God with all you have, read His Word – you have a computer, a smartphone, great! You have a Bible! Read it! It doesn’t matter where you start! Open it and ask God with all your heart to show up! He WILL! Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you a great and unsearchable thing you do not know.” God will show up!

God promises when we seek Him with all we have, He will hear us from heaven, He will forgive us of our sin (our wandering/running away) AND He will heal our land! He will bring health back to our land – restoring us as individuals, restoring our families, moving us forward in life with a HOPE of Living Forward as we never have before.

God’s promise to Job 33:25 – 27
“Then his flesh shall become soft as a boy’s;
he shall be again as in the days of his youth.

26

He shall pray and God will favor him;
he shall see God’s face with rejoicing;
for he restores a person’s righteousness.

27

He shall sing before all and say,
“I sinned and did wrong,
yet I was not punished accordingly.”

God restored Job: “Thus the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his earlier ones.” Job 44:12

God will restore us. Not as we can see, but in ways beyond our understanding. God promises “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

When we seek God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, we need to do so with the courage to let God have his way with us! His way is always the best, beyond anything we can imagine or comprehend!

Today, I close with a prayer for you and for me! May we have a boldness, a courage and a strength to face today with humility, with the purpose of seeking God and His ways, asking forgiveness for our sin, and willing to let go, to let God move in our lives, our homes and in our land.

May we experience the blessings of God today,
