This is happening… you plan, you search, you find it! The car you love, no one you know has one like it.  It is the original, only one in your area.  You drive it off the lot and then it happens…you see it everywhere.  The most popular car on the road, and now you have it! Crazy, right!?

Often the Lord does this in our lives…We feel alone.  Our child is struggling.  Our child is wandering down a path of life destruction.  Our child has turned away from everything we value and taught.

Then God shows up.  He brings people into our lives who have similar situations as we are going through.  God begins to show us a promise or a new understanding of scripture, then one day we realize this is exactly what we needed as we walk through a deep valley.  Our friends begin to send us notes, posts, or speak words of wisdom which brings strength to our season on the journey of being a mom.

Can you relate?  When the struggles come…as a mom, you lose sleep, find yourself grazing, overeating, or not eating.

And then we begin to see the Light…the Lord speaks in consistency…all around he sends lessons, messages, and encouragement.

Experiencing HOPE in our Season of Life on this journey as a mom.

Lesson: Luke 15:20-24  “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.”

  1. The Father is watching with anticipation
  2. The son admits he has died to who he was
  3. The Father’s compassion, mercy, and grace take the son in without reservation
  4. The celebration begins

The Father is watching…he can see beyond the impossible.  The son is brought back to wholeness.  Love for our children extends beyond their behaviors, choices, or actions.  There is no celebration without death to our selfish, careless self.

Father, I ask you to forgive my desire to hold on, to step in and fix it, or do things my way.  I ask you to forgive my desire to focus on the situation rather than the Truth that my child needs to return to you, her/his first love.  May I let go of my fear in the situation.  May I trust you, your faithfulness, and your greater love for my child.  Father, it is your desire to bring LIFE to her/him through the death and resurrection of your One and only Son, Jesus Christ. May I release her/him into your care.  By the power of the Holy Spirit, covered in your mercy and grace, I ask this in the holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Friends, conversations, people come into our lives with stories of HOPE…those who are traveling the journey ahead of us, testimonies of those who have come through the journey and are celebrating today!
