What is God Calling You to in this Season of HOPE through Transition?

Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

“A new thing!” Would you agree? Many of us are hoping 2021 brings about a “new thing”; a path in the wilderness and fresh water in the wasteland of what we may have considered 2020.

Today we will look at Moses, as God called him to “something new.” In Exodus 3, Moses is out tending the sheep. He has left his life in Egypt, and returned to his homeland, and is tending his father-in-law’s sheep. He has moved the sheep from Midian to the wilderness, coming to the mountain of God, Horeb. While here, Moses notices a bush burning, but there is a strange happening, the bush is not being consumed. Moses decides to walk over to inspect the situation.

Is there anything in this passage that is similar to your most recent wilderness season?  Does this scene look familiar?

We were going about our business, and one day last March, life came to a halt! In my experience with the last year, like Moses, many of us have gone searching; and are continuing to seek, trying to find out what is happening. Is this real? None of this is meeting the reality that we know.

Continuing our scripture:
“When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
And Moses said, “Here I am.”
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.” (Exodus 3:4-6)

In the wilderness, a burning bush leads Moses to discover “holy ground!” Holy Ground! What in your life has brought you to Holy Ground?

When we come upon Holy Ground, what changes in our mind? What changes in our attitude? What changes in how we handle a situation that is beyond our understanding?

I am going to let you continue to dive in and read the rest of Exodus Chapters 3:7-4:16.

However, there is one other thing I want you to see. It is that God hears Moses, and responds with an answer that gives Moses confidence he can follow through with what God has asked him to do. God sends Aaron, to be Moses’ mouthpiece! (see Exodus 4:15)

When I look at Moses’ life, I can see how God trained him for the job he called him to. Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s palace in Egypt. He understood the ways of Pharaoh. He had seen the suffering first hand; he understood the sorrow of seeing Hebrews being mistreated. (At this time Hebrews are the people we know as the Israelites, God’s chosen people. Through Moses, God taught the Hebrews (Israelites) the ways of God.

As I look back over my life, I can see the ways God has trained me for where I am today. Throughout my life, I have loved the Bible and its stories. As I grew up women mentored me; I served in jobs and ministry that provided learning God’s ways, seeing what happened when I chose to not follow but tried it my way first; and in my most recent years, I have experienced the joy of being a bit more ready to say, “Yes, I’ll follow you”; learning that I can trust Him to go before me. Most recently, God has shown me Isaiah 41:13: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

In this season of wilderness; being home, wondering and seeking to make sense of all that is going on, and now realizing a new year is upon us, God has given me a picture of where He would like KatyNelsonCoaching.net to focus in 2021.

God is calling us to Renew our Minds in Christ; living a holy life, pleasing unto God. What I hear God saying is, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” from Romans 12:1-2

God is doing something new! We are no longer going to be able to sit on the fence as Christian women. God is calling us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds…testing how we are living, and asking the question: Are we living a life pleasing to God; with His stamp of approval?

Ladies, God has a purpose for us in this time. We are in a season of HOPE through Transition. We are training up the next generation, we are caring for the generation above us, we have a voice in the season of today. I ask you, are you ready to learn how to live a transformed life, that is able to be tested and approved by the will of God?

I invite you to join me on this journey. This New Year, KatyNelsonCoaching is going to coach through Podcasts, Social Media Lives, YouTube mini-workshops, and full-on workshops to bring us through the year, with transformed minds in Christ. We will look at passages of scripture to discover how to retrain our thinking in the mind of Christ, we will look at women in the Bible to give us eyes to understand how they could follow Jesus and the Word of God with simple faith and obedience. We will ask ourselves powerful questions, learning from each other, so we can become women who live with purpose and intention the call God has on our lives as we experience HOPE through Transition.

I don’t know what your transition is — entering a new season in life, a season of learning, a letting go of old ways and thoughts, maybe it will be a deeper, daily walk with Jesus. Whatever your transition may be, you are welcome to join us!

We look forward to walking the journey with you, experiencing HOPE through Transition.

The good news! God promises us: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13.

Are you ready to move forward?

Praying for strength to say, “Yes, I am ready,”

Katy
